These four adorable kittens are super lucky to be alive.

They had been living in a junk car at Matejka Recycling in southeastern Minnesota. But no one at the Winona recycling company knew it – until workers were getting ready to crush the car.

According to a fundraising page, employees flipped the vehicle on its side and noticed something fall out.

When they got closer, they heard cries and found four little kittens – no mother in sight.

The people at Matejka Recycling collected the kitties, put them in a box and took them to the Winona Area Humane Society. There, the little guys were cleaned up, fed, and placed into a foster home where they're hand-fed every couple of hours. (They're still super tiny.)

Oh, and they have names now: Galileo, Marie (Curie), Bill (Nye), and Hawking (Steven) – lots of science going on here.

The Humane Society says it'll keep posting updates on the babies.
