Minn. artist takes home duck stamp prize

Joseph Hautman of Plymouth has won the 2011 Federal Duck Stamp Art Contest. His acrylic painting will be made into a 2012-2013 federal stamp. This is Hautman's fourth win.

DNR: Duck hunters drop to lowest number in over three decades

The Pioneer Press reports the high costs, hard work and overall loss of hunting in society are behind the drop. Only about 87,000 duck stamps were purchased last year -- that's the lowest number since the state started the duck stamp program in 1977.
