Firefighters were able to contain a large fire at an abandoned warehouse in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon, but the blaze is not completely done burning, according to KARE 11.
The fire is ongoing at the former Harris Machinery Company at 30th Avenue SE near the University of Minnesota Transitway, KSTP says.
A Metro Transit bus was provided near the fire so firefighters could step inside and warm up if necessary. The temperature in Minneapolis at the time of the fire Sunday evening was minus-4 degrees with a windchill more than 20-below zero.
As the Star Tribune reported, Metro Transit was running some bus lines and light rail trains 24 hours a day over the weekend to help keep people warm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
