There was a large turnout for the opening night of Holidazzle Village on the Nicollet Mall in Downtown Minneapolis. Holidazzle Village is the new attraction replacing the long-running Holidazzle Parade.
"Holidazzle Village featuring the Minneapolis Holiday Market will be unlike anything Downtown Minneapolis has ever hosted during the holiday season," said Leah Wong, vice president of events and marketing with the Minneapolis Downtown Council, to FOX 9.
The Holidazzle Village aims to provide an interactive experience including a variety of entertainment options like fireworks, glass blowing, ice skating and dog sled exhibitions. The holiday market will feature a carousel and 30 huts for local and international vendors.
Dec. 20 and 21 visitors will also be able skate on artificial ice on the Nicollet Mall between 10th and 11th Streets. A complete schedule of events is available on the Holidazzle website.
"It will really be this amazing experience where you can see, smell and taste your way through the market," Wong told the Star Tribune.
Holidazzle Village and Minneapolis Holiday Market runs through Wednesday, Dec. 24.
