Lena Dunham is bringing her feminist newsletter to life with a tour, and that includes a stop in Minnesota.

Dunham, a writer-actress who's best known for creating and starring in HBO's Girls, along with Girls director-showrunner Jenni Konner are behind the six-city Lenny: America IRL Tour, and you can see them at The Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul on June 3 at 7:30 p.m.

The idea for this tour is to "bring laughter, poetry, passion, and community to you and your friends," according to the tour announcement.

“Lenny is taking its singular mix of politics, entertainment and conversation on the road. Imagine if the beat poets weren't a bunch of ego-driven guys and there were no methamphetamines? Well, there you go!” Dunham and Konner said in a statement.

“Instead of publishing our newsletter from the comfort of our office we want to engage in a larger conversation across America, with women whose experiences may differ from ours but who share the same essential goals: freedom, self-actualization and the perfect night out," they added.

Dunham and Konner will be joined by other people who contribute to the Lenny newsletter, including: Sasheer Zamata, Chloe Caldwell, Jenny Zhang, Kaitlyn Greenidge, Morgan Murphy, Charla Lauriston, Katie Crutchfield, and Jackie Novak.

If you want to go

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday at noon. They're $35, and you can buy them online here, or at the Fitzgerald Theater box office.

And if you already subscribe to the Lenny newsletter, there should have been a presale code to buy tickets in Tuesday morning's newsletter.

The tour announcement says a portion of proceeds from tickets will "benefit organizations making sure young women get the arts education they deserve," but doesn't specify which organizations.
