Let's go, don't wait, Blink-182 announces Minnesota show

The band is going from an arena show last fall, to a slightly more modest venue this summer.

After playing the Xcel Energy Center last fall (here's our take on the show), Blink-182 are heading south for their next Minnesota gig.

The rockers will play in slightly more modest surroundings this time around, hitting the stage at the Mystic Lake Casino Ampitheater in Prior Lake on Aug. 9, they announced Tuesday.

The amphitheater has space for 1,600 seats, and up to 7,100 people can watch from the lawn behind the seating area. According to the venue, the show is completely general admission.

If you think The Rock Show would be an ideal First Date, tickets will set you back at least $49 (probably plus booking fees) when the presale starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, and general sale at 10 a.m. on Friday. More information about tickets can be found here.

The band, which counts "All The Small Things," "What's My Age Again," "Dammit" and "Anthem Part Two" among its biggest hits, returned to the top of the album charts in the U.S. and U.K. in 2016 with California.

They have sold more than 50 million albums and headlined festivals worldwide.

They will once again be without lead vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge, who took a permanent break from the band in 2015, with California the first Blink-182 album without him.

He's been replaced by Alkaline Trio singer/guitarist Matt Skiba, who joins the original duo of bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker.
