Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson spoke at Macalester College in St. Paul as part of his nationwide tour Friday, KARE-TV reports.

Johnson told a crowd of around 150 people that he would abolish the Federal Reserve, legalize marijuana and repeal personal and corporate income taxes, Minnesota Public Radio reports.

The former New Mexico governor, who left the Republican Party at the end of 2011, was joined in Minnesota by former Gov. Jesse Ventura. According to MPR, Ventura told that crowd that Johnson is the only viable alternative to President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Ventura has been making some political waves of his own recently.

During an appearance on the ABC talk show "The View" this week to promote his new book, "DemoCRIPs and ReBLOODlicans: No More Gangs In Government," Ventura said if he ever ran for president, it would be as an individual with no political party.

Ventura and his wife, Terry, also recently released a video that takes a stand against the Minnesota Marriage Amendment, which would define marriage between one man and one woman.
