The rural Little Falls man charged with murdering two teenage intruders on Thanksgiving Day was released from jail Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports 64-year-old Byron David Smith posted $50,000 cash as conditional bail. Conditions include surrendering his passport and any firearms.

A Morrsion County judge reduced Smith's conditional bail from $1 million on Monday.

Smith is accused of shooting and killing 18-year-old Haile Kifer and 17-year-old Nick Brady after they allegedly broke into his home. Prosecutors claim Smith went beyond self defense, citing a detailed audio recording of incident.
