You've most likely heard "Baby It's Cold Outside" many times during the holiday season.

The 1944 hit was written by Frank Loesser and made its debut in the 1949 filmNeptune’s Daughter. The tune has been covered by artists from Michael Bublé to Sheryl Crow, and has been featured in movies like Elf.

But the lyrics about a man trying to seduce a woman who insists that she wants to go home during a snowstorm draw a lot of eye-rolling and criticism these days. So a couple of local musicians changed the song to make it "not creepy."

The new rendition is from Twin Cities artists Lydia Liza and Josiah Lemanski.

Their version uses humor to address the concept of consent, replacing lyrics like “What’s the sense of hurtin’ my pride?” and “How can you do this thing to me?” with “Baby, I’m fine with that” and “Hoping you get home safe.”

And the woman in the song no longer has to worry about what's in her drink – it's Pomegranate LaCroix.
