Long Prairie man charged in ex-wife's murder, bail at $2M

A Long Prairie man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife, according to the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.

Craig Lamont Williams, 46, was charged Friday in Todd County with second-degree murder, reports KEYC-TV.

According to a criminal complaint, the station reports, Williams called 911 Thursday and asked for an ambulance for a gunshot wound at a home south of Long Prairie.

When deputies arrived, reports the St. Cloud Times, they found Nancy Elaine Williams, 58, dead from what appeared to be blunt force trauma, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Long Prairie Leader reports a deputy going to the scene found Craig Williams and two boys walking on a highway. Williams asked to be put in the deputy's car.

Nancy Williams was found on the kitchen floor. A cast iron anvil was found near her face.

According to KARE 11, bail for Craig Williams was set at $2 million.
