For the first time in more than 40 years, the Rochester International Airport will soon have a new leader.

The Rochester Post Bulletin says Steven Leqve will retire in May after 42 years on the job.

His successor, Marty Lenss, is leaving a similar post in Appleton, Wis. Lenss is set to begin his new role in southeast Minnesota on May 6.

"It's really been just a really nice ride and I've truly enjoyed it," Leqve told KTTC. "Since 9/11 we've had to make some pretty quick changes here in how we screen passengers and how we take care of them."
