Lupin from Harry Potter will be in Fargo season 3

Remus Lupin goes from Order of the Phoenix wizard, to shady Minnesota capitalist.

The next season of Fargo will feature everyone's favorite werewolf-wizard that held a teaching position at Hogwarts.

David Thewlis – who you might know as Remus Lupin in Harry Potter, or from one of the other dozens of movies he's been in – has been cast in season three of the FX series, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Other actors confirmed in the series so far:

  • Ewan McGregor, who will play brothers – one of them, Emmit Stussy, the "parking lot king of Minnesota." The other, Ray Stussy, is a down-on-his-luck parole officer.
  • Carrie Coon (who you might know from The Leftovers) as a divorced mother and chief of police for Eden Valley.
  • And Mary Elizabeth Winstead (recently in 10 Cloverfield Lane, also from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as a parolee who likes to play bridge.

Who is Thewlis/Lupin playing? According to EW he's V.M. Vargas, "a mysterious loner and true capitalist" who crosses paths with McGregor's parking lot king brother.

Back in June, Noah Hawley, the creator of the show, revealed that the third season will be set in St. Cloud and Eden Valley. (But they shoot in Canada). He also said it will take place in 2010, bringing things back into modern-ish times after season two jumped back to the '70s.

Season three is expected to air in 2017, though we don't have an official premiere date.

We'll consider this news not at all ...
