This time the Lynx didn't let the L.A. Sparks keep it close enough for a buzzer beater.

Minnesota jumped out to a 14 point halftime lead and wound up winning game 2 of the WNBA Finals 79-60 at Target Center Tuesday night.

Maya Moore led the way for the Lynx with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

In Sunday's game 1 of this best-of-five series, Moore was held scoreless in the first half. Even though she bounced back to score 18 after halftime, the Sparks emerged victorious on a last-second jumper by Alana Beard to steal the opener on Minnesota's court.

According to the Pioneer Press, coach Cheryl Reeve said the videotape of game 1 showed Moore and her teammates lacked aggressiveness and were sometimes flat-footed.

Aggressiveness was not a problem for Moore on Tuesday. Swish Appeal notes she had scored a dozen points by halftime on 5-7 shooting.

Center Sylvia Fowles had 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Lynx and Seimone Augustus added 14 points.

The last time a WNBA team lost the opener of the Finals on its home court but came back to win the series was ... just last year when the Lynx did it.

Minnesota is aiming for its fourth championship, which would equal the WNBA record held by the now defunct Houston Comets. Another title would also make the Lynx the first back-to-back champs in the league since the Sparks repeated in 2002, the Associated Press notes.

Game 3 is Friday night in Los Angeles.
