In Minnesota, the Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based retailer says it will hire more than 900 people at its two dozen stores in the state. The company says they're able to hire more employees than the last holiday season because of strong store growth.

Target, Kohl's announce holiday hiring plans

Minneapolis-based Target plans to hire 80,000 to 90,000 temporary employees nationwide for the Christmas shopping season, Fox Business reports. That is slightly fewer than last year, but Target notes 30 percent of the seasonal workers it hired last year stayed with the retailer permanently. Meanwhile, Wisconsin-based Kohl's plans to boost its temporary workforce by more than 10 percent from last year.

But that's still 15,000 jobs that need to be filled during the holiday season. The Richfield-based electronics retailer plans to increase its regular workers' hours instead.

Toys R Us to open pop-up shop in Macy's stores, including MOA

Macy's at the Mall of America in Bloomington will be among the 24 Macy's stores across the country to offer a Toys R Us Express-branded department during the upcoming holiday season, according to a company news release. The pop-up toy shops will be open from Oct. 15 to Jan. 15 and offer an assortment of dolls, action figures and puzzles.
