A woman shot and killed by a Golden Valley police officer on Interstate 394 last week previously warned police she heard troubling voices. The Star Tribune reports Katherine Gordon told Edina police in July she heard voices she believed to be the devil. She asked to be locked up before she hurt herself or others. She was killed after a high speed chase. Police say she pointed a gun at the officer.

Officials have identified the woman shot to death by Golden Valley Police on I-394 as Katherine Marie Gordon, 58, of California. Police said Gordon had possession of a handgun when she was pulled over. The Star Tribune reports she had a history of mental illness.

I-35E among weekend closures in Twin Cities

Another round of road closures will create some obstacles this weekend for those traveling around the Twin Cities. Motorists are encouraged to avoid both directions of Interstate 35E will between I-94 and Highway 36. It will be closed for 24 hours staring at 4 a.m. Saturday. Highway 100 northbound will be closed from Highway 62 to Interstate 394 from 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.
