Minneapolis authorities have identified the last homicide victim of 2012, the Star Tribune reports.
Tjioyan Funderburke, 54, was stabbed to death in his south Minneapolis apartment on Dec. 29. He was the city's 41st homicide of 2012.
Funderburke's neighbor, Rick Martinez, 34 -- also known as Andrew Riyadh Terrell -- is accused of the crime and has been charged with second-degree intentional murder, according to a complaint.
Word of the homicide comes a day after Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau said the city's violent crime rate in 2012 was up slightly from 2011.
Despite the rise, the chief noted that violent crime level last year was the second lowest since 1983, MinnPost reported.
