Chippewa County investigators say a man died over the weekend on a birthday party hayrack ride in western Minnesota.
According to the sheriff's office, the incident happened at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday about a half mile south of Highway 40 in Woods Township, roughly 110 miles west of Minneapolis.
The man lives in Woods Township, but authorities have not yet released his name, the Star Tribune reports.
They say a tractor was pulling two connected hay racks, and the man tried to jump from the first one to the other, fell and was run over by the second trailer. An air ambulance was dispatched, the Star Tribune notes.
But the man was pronounced dead at the scene, KARE 11 reports.
The mishap is still under investigation, WCCO reports.
