Man dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound in Minnesota restaurant bathroom

A 31-year-old man from Kimball, Minnesota died.

A man died in central Minnesota from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a restaurant bathroom.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident at the Red Goat Bar & Grill, at 170 Central Avenue North in Watkins.

It happened at around 2:44 p.m. on Easter Sunday, Sheriff Brian Cruze told Bring Me The News.

The victim was a 31-year-old man from nearby Kimball, Minnesota.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Watkins is located around 25 miles southwest of St. Cloud.

Minnesota's suicide rate has been rising steadily since the turn of the century, after reaching an all-time low in 1999, the Star Tribune reports.
