A St. Paul man has been arrested in connection with the death of another St. Paul man after an alleged car-surfing accident in Wisconsin Saturday. The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says a pedestrian lying on a roadway in Northern Township near Bemidji died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning. Authorities say Tyler Blake Cummings, 21, of Bemidji died after being struck by a car driven by Samantha Ruth Pender, 19, also of Bemidj, at about 3 a.m.

Authorities recover sailboat in fatal northern Minnesota accident

The Clearwater County sheriff's office has recovered the 10-foot sailboat that capsized last month near Bemidji. Two young boys died from hypothermia and their oldest brother continues to recover. All three boys were wearing life jackets when they were sailing with their dad.

Worker in northern Minn. seriously injured after auger accident

A worker at the Hedblad Saw Mill in Kelliher suffered serious injuries after he was caught in an auger Tuesday afternoon. The man was freed from the machine before emergency crews arrived, but authorities say he still had "serious injuries to his extremities and torso." Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp told the Grand Forks Herald the worker was airlifted to Minneapolis.
