Man fatally shot in car outside NE Mpls. party

Police say a man found in a car with an apparent gunshot wound Saturday morning in northeast Minneapolis didn't survive.

The Star Tribune reports the man in his 20s died shortly after 4:30 a.m. when officers arrived at a home in the 2400 block of Washington Street NE where a party was taking place.

Investigators believe the man was shot as he was sitting in the car. KSTP reports a woman was also in the car at the time of the shooting, but was not injured.

Witnesses told the television station that loud music prevented about 100 people at the party from hearing any gunshots.

No arrests have been made. The Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call 612-692-TIPS (8477).
