Man fires gun in the air in parking lot of lakeside Zorbaz

A man has been arrested on weapons and DUI charges after firing a gun outside a popular lakeside restaurant.

A deputy with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office overheard "numerous gunshots" in the area of the Zorbaz bar in Spicer, central Minnesota, at 2:02 a.m. Sunday, according to a Sheriff's Office press release.

The deputy spoke to the bouncers and other witnesses at the bar, on Green Lake, who told him a white man in a vehicle had displayed a handgun and then "fired numerous shots into the air" while leaving the Zorbaz parking lot.

Police tracked the vehicle down a few miles south of Spicer on County Road 8, where they found a 38-year-old man from Lake Lillian behind the wheel.

He was arrested without incident, police say, with two weapons found in the vehicle.

He is being held at the Kandiyohi County jail on weapons, assault and DUI charges, which are expected to be made formal later this week.
