A man found in stolen van that crashed in Minneapolis early Monday morning had been fatally shot.
Police responded to 32nd Street West and Blaisdell Avenue South around 1:30 a.m. after a witness said a van crashed into a tree and a fire hydrant, a news release says.
Inside the van was an unresponsive man who'd been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the van the man was driving was stolen in Brooklyn Park a few days before.

2 injured in shooting
The Tuesday morning shooting is one of a handful of incidents Minneapolis police are investigating from over the weekend. Two men were injured in a shooting Sunday night, and police say a hit-and-run crash is probably related to the shooting.
The shooting happened on the 3300 block of Bryant Ave. N. around 11:25 p.m. Police say they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg, noting a second man showed up at the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Around the same time, police started looking into a hit-and-run crash that happened at 33rd Avenue North and Logan Avenue North, which is just a few blocks away.
No one was injured in the crash, but police believe it's related to the shooting.
