A 19-year-old St. Paul man was charged Friday in connection with the beating and robbery of a man who remains hospitalized with potentially fatal brain swelling.

WCCO reports that Issac Maiden was charged in multiple counts in the assault by the Ramsey County Attorney's Office.

KSTP reports that St. Paul Police responded last Sunday to a large fight on the city's east side where they saw a large number of people running from the area and a man on the ground with blood coming from his nose and mouth. Witnesses said a fight had broken out between a group of girls when Ray Widstrand was walking in the area and was pulled into the fight.

Three juveniles have been arrested along with Maiden. He was identified from a still shot taken from a camera in the area.
