The driver who ran over a woman protesting outside a police station in the wake of the Ferguson case will not be charged, officials have said.
According to the Star Tribune, no action will be taken against 40-year-old Jeffrey Rice.
He drove his car through a crowd of protestors outside the 3rd Police Precinct at East Lake Street and Hiawatha in November.
Hundreds of people were demonstrating against police brutality in the wake of the decision by a Grand Jury in St. Louis, Missouri, not to charge a police officer for the killing of black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson last year.
It was then that a car began honking at protestors as it tried to drive through the crowd, before a woman was caught under its wheels as it passed through the intersection, sustaining minor injuries.
According to a statement from Hennepin County Attorney's office, prosecutors did not feel Rice's actions constituted a crime, KSTP reports.
