Man wounded in gunfire exchange with Minneapolis police

The Star Tribune reports that Minneapolis police say officers stopped a suspicious vehicle late Wednesday night and a man got out and started running, and then fired a gun at officers.

Police fired back and wounded the man, identified as David T. Embaye, of Minneapolis, 22, and he was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, the newspaper reports. Four officers were involved but none of them were injured in the incident near 38th Street and Columbus Avenue South, the Star Tribune says.

Embaye is expected to survive, KSTP reports.

A handgun was recovered at the scene, KARE 11 reports.
