Mandy Matula memorial sevice set for Sunday in Eden Prairie

A memorial service has been set for Mandy Matula, whose remains were found nine days ago in a park in Stearns County, KSTP-TV reports.

The service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie Sunday at 3 p.m.

Matula's body was found in a shallow grave at Mississippi River County Park in Sartell on Oct. 26. The Eden Prairie woman, who was 24, went missing May 1.

A coroner says Matula likely died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police say the only suspect in the case is Matula's late ex-boyfriend, David Roe.

Roe shot himself in the parking lot of the Eden Prairie Police Department in May before he was to be questioned by officials. He later died at a nearby hospital.

More than 900 people have already said they will be going to the memorial service, according to a memorial page for Matula on Facebook. More are expected to attend.

"Mandy has touched so many lives, whether they knew her or not. We would like to invite everyone to attend this service as we celebrate and remember her life," the page says.
