Man's body found in garage following house fire

A man's body was found following a house fire in the north metro Friday night – but his death was not caused by the blaze.

KSTP reports the Anoka County Sheriff's Office was called to the fire just after 8 p.m. in the 13000 block of Nightingale St. NW. in Andover.

After it was extinguished, the body of a 39-year-old man was found inside the garage.

According to WCCO, officials don't think his death was caused by the fire. The victim's identity has not yet been released.

The cause of the man's death has also not been released – it will be part of the investigation – and will finding out how the fire started.

The Star Tribune reports that nobody is in custody at this time, with the Sheriff's Office telling KSTP they are not seeking anyone in relation to the incident.

An autopsy on the body will be carried out by the Midwest Medical Examiner in Ramsey.
