Rosemount police confirmed Thursday that a couple was killed in a murder-suicide.

Officers found the bodies, late Tuesday, while conducting a welfare check at the apartment located in the 2900 block of 146th Street West in Rosemount.

Fox 9 reports that police found 32-year old Steven Lee Vasey Jr. and 31-year old Melissa Vasey dead.

Rosemount police say preliminary results from the Hennepin County medical examiner's office show that Melissa Vasey shot her husband "multiple" times, before shooting her self.

Although, the Pioneer Press reports, that police are not entirely sure what happened. A relative called police after some sort of concerning communication. Police believe the incident happened shortly before they were notified.

The Star Tribune reports that police say there were no indications of a struggle at the scene. There were also no prior calls to the residence.
