Massive tire fire burns overnight in Minneapolis

A fire that started in a pile of shredded tires in an industrial park in north Minneapolis burned for several hours early Friday morning, the KMSP-TV reported.

Flames reportedly shot as high as 150 feet in the air at one point.

The fire, which reportedly started about 3 a.m., was almost completely extinguished by 5:30 a.m.,KMSP reported.

Elsewhere in metro, a fire that started in the roof in the Ole Piper Inn restaurant in Blaine caused major fire and water damage to the structure in Blaine, KMSP reported.

The fire also reportedly caused smoke damage to other businesses in the strip mall where the Ole Piper Inn is located.
