MPR News reports tickets go on sale noon Friday for Mayor R.T. Rybak's farewell party at First Avenue Dec. 18. Proceeds will benefit Step-Up, a non-profit employment program for Minneapolis youth.

The line-up includes musical acts like DJ Shannon Blowtorch from Grrrl Prty and Dave Simonett from Trampled by Turtles.

The First Avenue website calls the event an "unauguration party" with the tagline, "What are they going to do, impeach me?"

R.T. Rybak has led Minneapolis for 12 years. His last day is Jan. 1.

But wait, he's not done yet! As USA Today reports - noting his "extremely good hair" - hizzoner has also tweeted a poem about the Twins's new signing of Ricky Nolasco.

His new job will be as executive director of Generation Next, a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the academic achievement gap in the Twin Cities. He will also teach a class at the University of Minnesota this spring called Mayor 101.
