Medica hires former Fairview executive


Mark Werner is joining Minnetonka-based health insurer Medica to serve as senior vice president and chief clinical and innovation officer, the company said in a news release.

Most recently, Werner has been a senior vice president and chief clinical integration officer for Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services.

“Throughout his career, Dr. Werner has been a leader in transforming the care delivery system to improve quality, increase efficiency and improve patient satisfaction,” David Tilford, Medica president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “His experience aligns very well with Medica’s goals to continue to improve the health and well-being of our members, reduce their costs of care, and advance the partnerships needed for our success. We are pleased to welcome him to our organization.”
