Meteorites found in Minnesota may be worth more than gold

Chances are slim that you'll find a meteorite in Minnesota, since only about 10 fist-sized space rocks land in the state per year. Missouri Congressman and Senate candidate Todd Akin ignited a firestorm by asserting that rape victims rarely become pregnant and suggesting women may have biological defenses against conception through rape. The argument may be rooted in a 40-year-old paper written by a University of Minnesota professor. Subsequent research disputes the paper's theories, but the work has long been cited by anti-abortion activists.
