A 37-year-old Shakopee, Minn., man was one of four finalists in a national "Hottest Dad" contest sponsored by iVillage -- but he lost to an Ohio father, the Prior Lake American says.

Marc Patefield, who has a son in first grade and teen step-daughter, was in New York City for Tuesday's taping of the "Today" show for the announcement of the winner. Here's MSNBC's story.
