Kandiyohi Co.: 2 killed in separate tree-cutting, jet ski accidents


A 53-year-old Owatonna man died in a tree-cutting accident near New London in west-central Minnesota on Sunday afternoon, WCCO reported.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene at about 12:45 p.m. and found that a large tree had pinned the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, KNSI radio reported. The man was not immediately identified.

Also in Kandiyohi County, a 66-year-old man from Montevideo died Sunday after a personal-watercraft accident on the north side of Norway Lake, WCCO reported. The man's vessel had tipped and he collapsed near the shore and stopped breathing, WCCO reported. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
