The creative minds behind the Fine Line Music Cafe, The Venue Minneapolis, and Aqua Event Center in the Minneapolis Warehouse District are opening a fourth spot on the East Bank of the Mississippi River.

Minneapolis Event Centers plans a grand opening of its newest venue at 3 p.m. Friday at the new location, 212 SE 2nd Street.

“We strive to be the first choice for anyone looking to host an event in Minneapolis,” said MEC's Wendy Schallock.

It was the latest move in a busy year for the company. In August, the Fine Line rock club became one of the four Minneapolis Event Centers operated by Entourage Events Group, which also runs a catering and party-planning business, the Star Tribune reported.
