Minneapolis is one of the most romantic cities, Instacart says
If buying groceries for your honey is romantic, Minnesotans sure are lovey-dovey.
In a new blog post, Instacart says they've noticed some trends in the items customers are searching for as Valentine's Day approaches. For instance, searches for “love” have gone up 300% leading up to the holiday.
So the popular grocery delivery service decided to find out which cities are the most (and least) romantic by analyzing the search trends.
They picked five universally romantic terms to look for in each city: chocolate, strawberries, champagne, flowers, and candy.
Cities that had the biggest boost of these romantic terms were ranked high on Instacart's "Romance Index," while those that were more “business as usual” fell to the bottom.
As it turns out, Minneapolis ranked as one of the most romantic cities in the country.
The most romantic cities on the list:
- Boston
- Seattle
- Washington DC
- Philadelphia
- Minneapolis
- Chicago
- New York
- Houston
And the least romantic city? Miami.
Followed by Indianapolis, San Francisco, Atlanta, Denver, Austin, and Los Angeles.
So if you haven't shopped for your valentine yet, better hurry up – other Minnesotans are making you look bad.
