Occupy protesters gain meeting with Rybak

Occupy Minnesota protesters will meet with Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak Tuesday to discuss the weekend arrests of a dozen demonstrators. The Occupy movement alleges police brutality. Forty members marched to Rybak's office to demand the meeting. Police Chief Tim Dolan has acknowledged cops may have gone too far in knocking a camera off the shoulder of a news photographer.

Police brutality alleged after 12 Occupy MN protesters arrested

In addition to the allegations by demonstrators in Minneapolis, a KSTP news photographer says he was roughed up and his camera damaged by police as he tried to tape the arrests. Police booked the protesters for blocking traffic and for public nuisance offenses. Another demonstration is planned for Monday.

A scuffle broke out between Occupy Des Moines demonstrators and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann's security detail Saturday in Iowa. Police say the protesters were arrested for trespassing.

OccupyMN protesters occupy foreclosed home

The TC Daily Planet is reporting some demonstrators connected to the OccupyMN movement have occupied a foreclosed home in north Minneapolis to keep the residents from being evicted. The protesters say they intend to stay in the home and in tents on the property until U.S. Bank agrees to renegotiate the mortgage. They say they will resist if authorities try to forcefully evict the residents.

City administrator wants Occupy Duluth protest out of civic center plaza

City Administrator Dave Montgomery says the plaza is not designed to be a campground and negotiations on moving the protest will begin early this week. Surprised demonstrators say it's the first they've heard of a move.
