Update: Missing 8-year-old Minneapolis girl found 'safe and sound'


Minneapolis police said late Wednesday night they had located a missing 8-year-old girl who had gone missing.

Kayara Marie Kegg was last seen after school Wednesday afternoon at Anishinabe Academy in South Minneapolis. Police say it was possible she never boarded the bus home.

She was found "safe and sound" at an address in Minneapolis, police said in a news release.

Further details about the incident were not released.

Police thanked the public for spreading the word on her disappearance, adding the public "played a crucial role in this child’s return."
