Minneapolis runners honor Boston victims

A group of Minneapolis runners joined other runners around the nation Monday holding "Boston Strong" runs in support of the city that was rocked by bombings at the Boston Marathon one week ago.

The group "Boston Strong Minneapolis" met at the Wilde Roast Cafe on Main Street SE, KSTP and FOX 9 report.

WCCO reports that about 40 Minnesota runners participated. “Long distance running is about endurance and pushing on in the face of pain so coming together with runners … touches everybody," Jordan Deckenboch of Minneapolis told WCCO.

The local group noted on its website simply, "One week after the horrific events, we run to honor those impacted by those events." The group is not taking collections, but recommends The One Fund Boston.
