Minneapolis synagogue vandalized during Passover

Publish date:

Temple Israel in Minneapolis was hit by taggers Tuesday night that left purple spray-painted letters on the historic stone structure, the Star Tribune reports.

The vandalism happened just a few days into the celebration of Passover, however Jewish religious leaders say the markings don't appear to be anti-Semitic.

Security footage shows a man vandalizing the temple sometime before midnight. Minneapolis police are investigating.

WCCO reports the spray paint covers exterior pillars, doors and walls. City Pages has photos.

Temple Israel is the largest synagogue in Minnesota with 6,000 attendees.
