The winning $338 million ticket in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing was sold in New Jersey. But Minnesotans who played won over $3 million in prizes and the big jackpot earned the state more than $5.4 million in the run that began Feb. 6.
The Associated Press reports that a ticket sold in Hennepin County won $1 million. Another million dollar winner was sold in McLeod County for the March 6 drawing. Six tickets sold during the run won $10,000.
According to State Lottery officials, the state’s proceeds include $3 million for the general fund, $1.4 million for the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, and nearly $500,000 apiece for the Game and Fish Fund and the Natural Resources Fund.
