Two big cats from Minnesota got some screen time on Animal Planet.

According to the Wildcat Sanctuary – a rescue facility northeast of Hinkley – the cougar kittens are named Snow and Storm. They're originally from Washington state.

Late last year, while the cats were still in Washington, someone called authorities to report to cougar kittens in need of help.

A producer of the Animal Planet show "Rugged Justice" just happened to be around when that happened, the Wildcat Sanctuary says.

So the rescue was filmed and actually aired Thursday night. You can watch some clips in the trailer below.

Snow went through a lot

According to Facebook posts, there had been a total of three kittens. One had to be put down because of injuries though.

The Wildcat Sanctuary says the show mostly features the capture of Snow. And that kitten went through a lot, according to the Sunday World.

"She was treed by a local dog, shot with tranquilizers, then chased by trained hounds into the Similkameen River, where Fish and Wildlife officer rescued her from the mouth of a hunting dog," the paper wrote.

After seeing a few photos, the Minnesota rescue facility decided to take in and raise the cougars. Operators had prior experience caring for wild-borne cougar kittens, after all.

Now, the cats are about 11 months old and doing great.

Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone is home to about 100 other big cats like tigers, lions and leopards.
