A Minnesota food cart was named 2017 Hot Dog Vendor of the Year

There's going to be a party to celebrate.

A Minnesota food cart was recently voted 2017 Hot Dog Vendor of the Year, and is hosting a party to celebrate.

Natedogs of Minneapolis won Mobile Cuisine's Hot Dog Vendor of the Year in an online vote, with the website saying more than 90,000 people cast a ballot in the contest.

To celebrate the win, Natedogs will be hosting a party on Tuesday, June 27, from 4-10 p.m. at Barrel Theory Beer Company in St. Paul. The first 100 people will get a free beer, and all proceeds from wieners sold during the event will go to Feed My Starving Children.

Rounding out the top five for the top hot dog vendors of the year were Alaska-based Yeti Dogs at No. 2; Small Time Hot Dogs from Mississippi at No. 3; Victory Dogs from Oregon at No. 4; and Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs from Buffalo, New York, at No. 5.

More on Natedogs

Nate Beck, whose love for hot dogs can be attributed to his dad and the Minnesota State Fair, doesn’t make your typical hot dog. He makes skin-on wieners with meat from Minnesota farms, according to the Natedogs website.

He launched his umbrella-topped hot dog cart on the streets of Minneapolis back in 2011, and now his business has expanded into catering and selling his homemade mustard (he’s not much of a ketchup fan), his website says.
