Searchers at Yosemite National Park recovered the body of a Minnesota hiker who apparently fell from a cliff at the top of a waterfall.

Kenneth Stensby had been missing since Sunday, when he left his hotel for a hike at Vernal Fall. The 73-year-old was an avid and experienced hiker, who left word with hotel staff that he expected to be back by noon.

KARE 11 reports search dogs were brought in to track his scent after Stensby's backpack was found at the top of the waterfall.

According to CNN, Stensby's body was spotted on Monday but crews were not able to recover it until Tuesday.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal notes that Stensby was the longtime CEO with real estate developer United Properties, serving in that post for more than 20 years before his 1995 retirement.
