Minn. inventor sues Forever 21 over boot hangers

Lindsay Sokolowski, the Minnesota lawyer who invented Boutique Boot Hangers in 2007, is suing fashion retailer Forever 21 for patent infringement, the Business Journal.

She accuses the Los Angeles-based company of using knock-offs of her product to display boots at its Mall of America store in Bloomington and one other location in Pennsylvania.

Sokolowski wants Forever 21 to buy her product and is asking the court to order the retailer to pay for lost profits as well as other unspecified damages.

Forever 21 has not responded to the lawsuit as of Wednesday.
