A Minnesota delegation, including Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner Solon, leaves today for a week-long trip to Germany where the topic will be renewable energy, reports the Associated Press.

The University of Minnesota's Center for German and European Studies is hosting the trip.

The delegation, which is made up of representatives from government, the energy industry, renewable energy non-profits and higher education institutions, will meet with experts and policymakers in Germany.

The trip is a great opportunity to trade ideas with leaders from a country that has been a trailblazer in renewable energy, Prettner Solon tells the AP.
