A mother of 12 children who is one of Minnesota's worst drunk-driving offenders has been arrested in Illinois for DUI.

Riverside Police tweeted on Wednesday morning that they arrested Tasha Lynn Schleicher, 41, of New Hope, Minnesota, after she was allegedly found passed out at the wheel on Tuesday evening.

They described her as "one of the worst DUI offenders this agency has ever arrested" and has subsequently been described as one of the worst in the country.

She is wanted on several warrants, also for drunk-driving, in Nebraska, Idaho and Oregon, police said, and they posted a picture showing an empty bottle of booze found in her car.

By the time police arrested her, ABC 7 reports, she was trying to pump kerosene into her gasoline-running car.

She told police she was looking for her 11 children, who officers later learned had been taken away from her by the state of Minnesota for her excessive drunk-driving convictions.

She claimed that she had dropped off the only child still in her custody – her 15-year-old son – in Illinois earlier that evening, so he could "party" over spring break. The boy has not yet been located by authorities.

MPR reports that she has DWI convictions in five states besides Minnesota, where she hit the headlines last year when she crashed on Hwy. 52 with five of her kids in the car.

She spoke to the Rochester Post Bulletin last year in this article, which is worth a read, called "How did Tasha's life come to this?"
