Minnesota motorcyclist dies after collision with antelope in Idaho

The Associated Press is reporting that a Minnesota man died Friday when the motorcycle he was riding struck an antelope.

Idaho State Police identified the victim as 53-year-old Lawrence Steffens of St. Louis Park.

The collision happened about 2 pm on Friday on U.S. Highway 93 near the town of Ellis in central Idaho.

Police say the antelope ran in front of Steffens while he negotiated a corner.

Police say Steffens was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

Idaho State Police are investigating the crash.
