The musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra are still locked out amid an ongoing contract dispute. But they have this: a Grammy nomination.
The orchestra was nominated Wednesday for best orchestral performance, for "Sibelius: Symphonies Nos. 2 & 5." The competition: the San Francisco Symphony, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Oregon Symphony and London Symphony Orchestra. Here's a list of all the Grammy nominees.
One other Minnesota group was nominated: the Okee Dokee Brothers, a fun pair of Minneapolis bluegrass musicians who specialize in children's music. They are nominated in the best children's album category for "Can You Canoe?"
