More than 14,000 people took part in 16 events this year. Last year, 11,000 people helped raise more than $2.2 million. All the money raised will help support the Minnesota Special Olympics.

Organizers said awareness is key, since only one in three Minnesota veterans takes advantage of medical care offered by the Veteran's Administration.
